The trigger guard isn't what concerns me. The only trigger guards I've ever seen broken are the old plastic ones (I know, the old plastics are not the same as the new polymers). My concern is the pin and screw holes. I have yet to see any plastics (old or new) that will hold up to repeated removal or wear from use. Especially if the plastic is threaded. Comments?
