I own a Browning Model 1885 single shot in a 30-06 with a Zeis straight 6 power; Buehler rings/mounts. This 06 with my load @ 100 yds gives me tight 1'' group. I luv this rifle

I purchased one of the BPCR versions in 45-90. I added a tang sight and globe front for a complete setup! It launches a cast 535 gr Postell bullet @ about 1300 fps, and It's a tack-driver, even with that big ol' load. Beautifully built (in Japan), and flawless functioning. Why would a person buy one of the poorly built Italian versions? Even with it's internal improvements, this one IS a Browning because, heck; they built it. I would like to see two changes however: 1) drop the high gloss "bowling ball" finish in favor of an oiled type low-gloss finish, and 2) make the receiver color-case hardened, like the originals. Oh, and maybe add an optional set trigger for us target shooters, and a slightly heavier stock and barrel for the same uses. It's a bit light for those big 45-90 loads fired at the range. "KICK!!!" Then, it would easily sell for another $500+, no problems.
