2008 marks Jason’s 20th year as a competitive shooter, and the two-time former Olympian (2000, air rifle, fifth place; 2004, air rifle, eighth place) will be competing in two events in Beijing: air rifle and three-position. His berths on the U.S. team came courtesy of a first-place finish at the Olympic trials in three-position and a second place finish in air rifle--these victories coming on the heels of two gold medal-winning performances in those events at the 2007 Pan American Games. Jason, a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, won a world championship in air rifle in 2002 and has held or co-held the world record in air rifle three occasions. He’s earned a slew of medals in world cup competitions, and he’s been national champion in three-position twice (2003 and 2007) and air rifle four times (1999, 2002, 2003 and 2006).
