Big Round-Up of Must-See Reloading Tools & Components for 2020

RifleShooter editor J. Scott Rupp takes a look at a bunch of great new stuff for your reloading bench.

Big Round-Up of Must-See Reloading Tools & Components for 2020
Hornady Reloading App: Hornady’s reloading manual is now available as an app. All the same data for calibers from .17 Hornet to .50 BMG are there, and you still get all the easy-to-use velocity and powder charts. You also get reloading tips and techniques, range logs, bullet selection help and more. Hornady will also offer limited free data on its newer cartridge releases like 6mm Creedmoor and .224 Valkyrie. You can either download the app for free and buy just the cartridges you need for 99 cents each or get the entire 10th edition in app form for $20.

Hornady Precision Measurement Station: Here’s your one-stop-shop for checking key measurements on your components. The multi-purpose measuring tool allows reloaders to sort components according to size and quality by comparing bullet ogive location, cartridge base to ogive location, headspace location and overall case length. Also enables you to measure bullet runout and identify inconsistencies in cases and bullets. Includes five headspace bushings, seven bullet comparators and accessory mount. The base weighs almost eight pounds, and the station has leveling feet. $325

SIG Brass: SIG got into the ammunition business a couple years ago, and now it’s branching out into brass. I received a 50-count bag of .30-06, and it’s quality stuff. Weight variance—heaviest to lightest—for 10 random cases was just 2.8 grains, and the standard deviation for those 10 was 0.98 grain. SIG promises exceptional neck concentricity and case wall thicknesss, and the case mouths are induction-annealed for consistent bullet retention. Flash holes are “precision-pierced” for alignment and concentricity to the case. Available in .223, .22-250, .243, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 BLK, .308, .30-06 and .300 Win. Mag. The .223 brass is available in 100-count bags; the rest are 50. $18–$43
