Anschutz Establishes U.S. Branch, Separates from Steyr

Anschutz Establishes U.S. Branch, Separates from Steyr

1746014On June 2, 2014, Anschutz announced the start of a subsidiary branch in the United States. Operating under the name Anschutz North America, the company will focus on distributing and marketing their rifles and shooting accessories to the U.S. market.

According to Anschutz, U.S. demand for the company's hunting and target rifles led them to establish the new location in the U.S.

"The USA is a powerful market with a huge demand for Anschütz premium quality rifles," President of J.G. Anschütz & Co. KG Jochen Anschütz said. "Over the years, the continued interest from the American hunters and target shooters in our fine hunting and high-precision target rifles has given us the confidence to further grow and support this important market."

On July 1, 2014, Anschütz North America will begin operations at a location that has not yet been announced. The new branch will provide customers with after-sales service for all company products and will offer support for warranty claims, repairs, spare parts and technical information.

The company's established distribution chain and main dealer network in the U.S. will continue to operate as it did before the introduction of Anschutz North America.

Previously, the company offered their Hunting and Sporting line of rifles exclusively through Steyr Arms, now located in Alabama. The addition of a new U.S. branch reflects the company's desire to exert more control over operations in North America.

"While attending the SHOT Show in Las Vegas this past January, one of the most important factors of continued success that both I and my father, Dieter Anschutz, discussed was the realization that not only do we need to continue to provide our excellent rifles, but to also expand our legendary Anschütz service here in America," Anschutz said. "We feel that the best way to support this new growth is to take the distribution and sales service into our own hands."

Anschutz joins a number of other gun manufacturers who have relocated to or opened new facilities in Alabama.

More information will be provided as it is released.
