Utilizing strong rare-earth magnets built into the adapters, the MAGVIEW system creates an incredibly stable platform, requiring only a super thin stainless-steel plate adhered to the phone to secure the device to the optic. The design allows for the same device to be used on the spotting scope or binocular adapter, interchangeably. The end result is an intuitive and multifunctional system that captures crisp photos and video while enhancing the user experience behind the glass. $99.99-169.99; www.magviewgear.com

Offering a wide magnification range for close to mid-range shooting, the Presidio 3-18x50 MR2 Riflescope combines elite performance with a sleek, stealthy appearance. Designed for shooters, the Presidio 3-18x features a first focal plane reticle calibrated for a maximum caliber of .338, red reticle illumination for contrast against targets and low light shooting, and fully multi-coated optics. Its exposed-locking turrets produce clear, audible clicks and feature aggressive exterior ‘knurling’, to add a distinct tactile feel to give shooters greater confidence when adjusting their windage and elevation. With built-in zero stops, and a single piece, 30mm tube and aircraft grade aluminum construction, the Presidio is extremely accurate and durable. $399.97; www.sightmark.com

Real Avid Speed Stand

Real Avid Speed Stand

This collapsible rifle rest is super handy at the range or on the workbench for cleaning, scope mounting and other tasks where you need to secure your gun but don’t need a vise. The feet can be adjusted to account for unever surfaces, and the Gun Gripper Vs on either end are nonslip and automatically conform to a stock’s configuration. It slides in and out to account for different gun lengths as well. Folds up small to stash in a gear bag or to save bench space. $50; www.realavid.com

Fisher Cap-O-Matic Space Pen

space pen

A dependable pen is a must for range record-keeping. Fisher Space Pens have pressurized cartridges so they can write at any angle, which is handy for labeling targets, and they work in extreme temperatures—important if, like me, you shoot whether it’s 100 degrees or five. Hunters will find them great for filling out big game tags because they will write on almost any surface. The powder-coat orange model shown here—which I chose for its visibility since I’m prone to losing things—is no longer available, but a construction yellow one is, as are other colors and finishes. $30; www.SpacePen.com

Warne HyperLite Rings

warne hyperlite rings

At just 2.8 ounces per pair, these scope rings are made of MagnaFusion alloy, which results in a ring that’s 35 percent lighter than aluminum without sacrificing strength or stability. They’re CNC machined and treated to a Cerakote finish, and the NATO-standard 4694 interface promises rigidity and a better return to zero. They feature an integral recoil lug and dual-screw clamps, and they fit both Picatinny- and Weaver-style bases. HyperLites are available in one-inch, 30mm and 34mm tube sizes in low, medium and high. $100–$110; www.WarneScopeMounts.com

It has a dry-bag-style roll-up closure system for a tight seal, and three external compression straps are handy for mounting on a vehicle as well as strapping accessories like tripods to the outside. Fits rifles up to 53 inches long and 10.5 inches high. Weight is two pounds, nine ounces. $100; www.AlpsOutdoorz.com

Butler Creek Element Gun Cover

Made of a durable fabric that’s both water and abrasion resistant, the cover promises to protect your rifle from harsh conditions. It’s also available in a suppressor-ready model with a fabric at the muzzle that will stand up to extreme heat—up to 900 degrees—so you can store your can-eqipped gun before it’s fully cooled. The cover is designed for quick removal, and it will easily stuff in a pack. $30, $50 (suppressor ready); www.butlercreek.com
