BEAVERTON, Ore. — 1/21/2025 - Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear sport optics, is pleased to announce the launch of its new VX-6HD Gen 2 family of riflescopes, available now.

For apex hunters, success is more than the pursuit. It’s about dominating any condition or environment–a goal made even more attainable with the next generation of Leupold’s legendary Gold Ring riflescope. The VX-6HD Gen 2 family offers six different models, four different reticle options, and is loaded with new features. Whether you’re climbing rugged peaks in search of a ram or chasing bugling elk at last light–no matter the hunt, your path forward with the VX-6HD Gen 2 is one of total dominance.

“This isn’t just a new product announcement–this is proof that the world’s best hunting riflescope just got even better,” said Tim Lesser, Vice President of Product Development and Marketing for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The VX-6HD Gen 2 improves upon the industry-leading performance of its predecessors and delivers new features and enhancements that hunters worldwide will value. No detail has been overlooked.”

New is the innovative CDS-SZL2 dial, which eliminates the need for tools when zeroing or changing custom dials. By unlocking the lever on the SpeedSet dial, hunters will be able to reset the zero on their elevation and windage dials without having to use tools. The new dial features Leupold’s push-button ZeroLock system, eliminating accidental dial movement. The VX-6HD Gen 2 also includes competition-grade precision adjustments and an integrated throw lever, mirroring the award-winning aspects which define Leupold’s Mark series of riflescopes.

The VX-6HD Gen 2 is built around Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System, which delivers the light transmission, glare reduction, and resolution professional guides and shooters demand. An electronic leveling system simplifies mounting and improves long-range accuracy, while Guardion lens coatings shed dirt and water for clear, crisp images.

The VX-6HD Gen 2 is compatible with Leupold’s Custom Dial System (CDS), allowing you to easily compensate for bullet drop and make ultra-quick elevation adjustments on the fly. Leupold will customize your scope’s elevation dial to match your exact load, muzzle velocity, and environmental conditions. Every VX-6HD Gen 2 comes with two free CDS dials, and additional dials are available for a nominal fee.

“We’ve designed the VX-6HD Gen 2 to be the ultimate hunting riflescope, and its features make that very clear,” said Vici Peters, Gold Ring Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The included Custom Dial System might be the most useful feature on the market for hunters. With just a few pieces of information, almost all available on the back of any box of ammunition, we can make dialing for distance incredibly simple. It’s a game-changer in the field.”

The VX-6HD Gen 2 is available in six configurations: 1-6x24, 2-12x42, 3-18x44, 3-18x50, 3-18x56, and 4-24x52. Each configuration is available in multiple reticles, and all reticles/adjustments are in minute of angle (MOA).

The ultra-lightweight construction of the VX-6HD Gen 2 disperses recoil energy for unmatched durability, and the scopes are all waterproof, fogproof, and backed by Leupold’s legendary Full Lifetime Guarantee.
