One Big Beautiful Bill's Significant Gun Rights Victory

H.R. 1 brings upon changes for suppressors, short barreled rifles, and short barreled shotguns.

One Big Beautiful Bill's Significant Gun Rights Victory

The passing of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" signifies change in the right direction for 2A and gun owners across America. While not perfect in its entirety, it is a needed, tractional step towards proper reconciliation.

While it's hard to predict the domino effect that may occur after this positive ground gaining, here is a quick glance guide to things that will impact RifleShooters:

  • Starting January 1, 2026, $200 tax stamps for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs will be reduced to $0. This reduces the frivolous overreach of the NFA and erases the arbitrary fee associated with legal ownership.
  • The "registry process" is still in place. Forms, fingerprints, and approvals are all still required. This was a Senate compromise—alleviating the tax stamp burden, but not full removal from the NFA.
  • Precedent and legal ramifications. Having $0 tax is a formality and non-coincidental abuse of power. Many powerful 2A groups have already stated their intention to fight to repeal the NFA and potentially sue on the grounds of it being unconstitutional.

While falling short of completely deregulating suppressors, we anticipate further legal battles with some steam behind them to tackle the remaining NFA provisions.
