Streamlight ProTac 2L-X USB

Streamlight ProTac 2L-X USB

This 500-lumen light ships with a battery featuring its own micro USB port, and because it also runs on two standard CR123A lithium batteries, you can be charging the USB battery and still use the light by installing CR123As. Modes are accessed by tapping the tailcap and include high, strobe and low. Run time on high is 3.25 hours on the USB battery. It has an anti-roll head, which is handy for the shooting bench or work bench, and it has a removable multi-position pocket clip as well. Comes with holster and charging cable.

Nikon Monarch 3000 Stabilized

Nikon Monarch 3000 Stabilized

What's the hardest part about ranging a distant target with a laser rangefinder? Holding the damn thing still. This new rangefinder makes use of Nikon's image stabilization technology. I tried it out at a recent trade show, and it's amazing how effective it is. The unit ranges to 3,000 yards on reflective targets and features a 6X monocular. It accounts for shooting angles up to plus or minus 89 degrees, and the 3.8x2.9x1.7-inch, 6.3-ounce unit has First Target and Distant Target priority modes.

MSRP: $420

Frontier Cartridge

At least some of you probably remember the venerable Frontier name, which appeared on many cartridge headstamps Hornady sold for many years. Now it's back in a line of American-made, military grade .223 and 5.56 ammo featuring brass cases and boxer primers. It's available in 20, 150, 500 and 1,000-round quantities. Loads include 55- and 62-grain FMJ, spire point and hollowpoint match.

Aguila .300 BLK

AR shooters who favor the impressive .300 BLK have yet another option. Aguila is now loading the round with a 150-grain full-metal-jacket round taht leaves the muzzle at 1,900 fps and generates 1,200 ft.-lbs. of energy. At 100 yards it's still churning up 1,000 ft.-lbs., widely recognized as the minimum amount of energy to kill deer and similar game. Currently offered in 50-round boxes, with 20-rounders on the horizon.

Otis Patriot

The Otis Patriot pull-through cleaning system includes a tool that does triple duty as a handle for the flexible rod, as a bit driver and as a chamber cleaner (via a supplied steel rod that threads onto the tool and a specially designed chamber brush). The tool is threaded on one end for the steel rod and has an open hex on the other to accommodate Phillips, flat screwdriver and Torx bits. All this — plus a cleaning brush and two metal cleaning picks — come in a handy snap-closed plastic case. Available in calibers from .17 to .30.

Savage 110 Wolverine

Savage 110 Wolverine

The .450 Bushmaster is getting a lot of attention all of a sudden, and a great new platform for it is Savage's Wolverine. The 18-inch barrel — with muzzle brake and 11/16-24 threadiong — makes for a handy rifle for tight cover, and it weighs eight pounds. It feeds from a five-round Magpul AICS-type magazine. The Wolverine features the Savage AccuTrigger as well as the new AccuFit stock system that allows you to customize it for length of pull and comb height.

MSRP: $899

Ruger PCC

Ruger PCC

Whether you're looking for a solid home-defense rifle or just a gun that's a blast to shoot, look no further than this new 9mm carbine. The 16-inch fluted barrel is available threaded or unthreaded, and it sports an adjustable ghost ring aperture rear and a protected front blade — as well as an optics rail up top. The receiver is machined from aluminum billet, and the carbine feeds from either Ruger SR-series and Security-9 magazines as well as Glock magazines. Comes with the Ruger-style mag well installed, and changing the well to work with Glock mags is a breeze.

MTM Case-Gard Cleaning Rod Case

MTM Case-Gard Cleaning Rod Case

This super handy case is just the thing for keeping your cleaning rods organized and prevent them from being damaged due to, say, chucking them loose into the back of your vehicle when headed to the range. At 47.5 inches long, it will fit all but the very longest rods, and interior foam keeps them from rattling around, and the case is secured with three latches. If you want, you can stash patches underneath the rod for even more convenience.
